Description

The Renishaw Education Outreach team is offering the opportunity for schools across South Wales to loan a 3D printer for FREE, for up to three months, to use in their classrooms. The scheme is open to all primary schools and secondary schools across South Wales that want to explore the exciting area of 3D printing and include it in daily lessons.

If your school is interested in using a 3D printing, we will support you by providing you with an Ultimaker 2+ 3D printer, staff training on how to use the machine, an introduction to TinkerCAD (3D design software) and some filament for the agreed period to allow you complete some classroom based projects and do all the 3D printing you require in school with the students.

At the end of your loan period we would like you to share your experiences by writing a short report on how you have used the 3D printer in your school.

Only 1 printer is permitted at a school per loan period.

Only 1 printer is permitted to a school during the school acedemic year. (you cannot make bookings for all 3 terms)

A loan agreement must be signed for the loan period.

Once you have registered, a member of the Education Outreach team will be in contact to arrange a date for training and delivery of the 3D printer 1 to 2 weeks before your loan period.

Renishaw's Education outreach team brings these clear and positive messages into schools and colleges in Gloucestershire, Bristol and South Wales, and to universities throughout the country.

Our proactive education outreach programme is designed to excite, to interest and engage students in a range of engineering activities. Our aim is to provide real insight into the vibrant world of engineering, and careers based on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) subjects.

The great engineers of tomorrow are students in our schools today.  With the help of primary and secondary school teachers (and parents…) in Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire, Bristol and South Wales, we want to find them.  This country needs more engineers. Renishaw needs more engineers!

Renishaw's Education Outreach programme offers local schools a range of activities designed to inspire young students to engage in engineering and consider it as a future career option.  You never know, they might want to work at Renishaw one day.

Our comprehensive education outreach activities are completely free and aimed at Year 5 - 13.  Our goal is to bring real-world context and added value to schools' science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) curricula.
